DreamWeaver: Creating divisions on a page

ICT skills improved and developed during lesson:
a new ICT skill that i have developed during today's lesson is how to create divisions on a webpage. to do this i had to input a piece of code for each section which enabled the area to be set out into different divisions so that each section can be modified individually.

Used your own initiative for planning the project:
N/A

How Acquired:
I acquired this skill after demonstration from my teacher and taking notes from the demonstration to return to later when creating the divisions and for referencing in the future if need be.

Dreamweaver

ICT skills improved and developed during lesson:

Within today's lesson i had my first experience with Adobe DreamWeaver and I learnt several new skills which will be useful when producing my own web pages. Firstly, I learnt how to create a CSS style sheet, within the style sheet i was able to change different parts of a web page, for example in this case how to change fonts and colours on a web page. I also learnt how to create TAGS and classes, using these two features of DreamWeaver I was able to change the background of the web page, the background of specific areas within the webpage and add images to a webpage. These two features where very similar in the way in which they were created, this was because the two features are accessed from within the same menu.

Used your own initiative for planning the project:

Within this lesson i used a very limited amount of my own initiative, this was because this lesson was all about learning new skills and getting to grips with Adobe DreamWeaver. The own initiative that i use was adding an image into the project that i had previously edited in Adobe Photoshop from a previous project.

How Acquired:
I acquired this skill after a demonstration from my teacher that lasted several minutes. The demonstration was helpful however i felt that the teacher went through the areas very quickly and not that thoroughly. i beleieve that more time should have been spent on the individual areas rather htan just rushing through both areas.

Minutes/Agenda research

ICT skills improved and developed during lesson:

Prior to the meeting myself and all of the other group members were required to research examples of these documents so that we could see what needed to be included within the documents.

Used your own initiative for planning the project:

During this skill i used my own initiative because i conducted my own research to find the documents and did this indivdually. From these exampled i then picked points i liked and disliked fromt the examples and decided what i would like to include in my own documents

How Acquired:

Minutes Secertary, Group meeting Two

ICT skills improved and developed during lesson:

Prior to the meeting i had to produce an agenda that would be handed out to each of the members of the group. I produced this agenda so that the group had a structured list of what was going to be discussed within the group meeting and to make sure that the group stayed on track with discussions.

Within the meeting i had to take down minutes of what was discussed within the meeting and i then had to type these minutes up on the computer on distribute the minutes to each group member.

Used your own initiative for planning the project:

i had already previously produced a agenda and typed up minutes from various different activities both in college and in secondary school. this meant that i did not have to research the items and just used my own initiative.

How Acquired:

I had already previously acquired this skill
